CHILD Abuse Squad detectives have charged a 46-year-old teacher as a result of their investigation into the alleged assault of a 10-year-old child.

An altercation took place between a student and teacher in a classroom at a primary school in the Peel District on August 31.

It will be alleged the man stood in front of the boy, grabbing his shirt and then pushing him backwards, causing him to hit a bookcase that was behind him.
