MANDURAH resident Nasman Donovan will soon compete in Kelmscott Idol’s top 12, seniors’ category.
His performance forms part of the entertainment at the Kelmscott Show on October 20 and 21.
Performing since he was nine years old, now 14-year-old Nasman takes it all in his stride.
“Since I was young I’ve always enjoyed competing in singing competitions, and lately I have been busking in Fremantle and Mandurah” he said.
Nasman is also a guitarist and has competed in Kelmscott Idol for four years, beginning in the junior category which caters for 8-12 year olds, with his audition performance taking him through to the finals each year he has competed.
“This year I’ll be playing and singing Tenerife Sea by Ed Sheeran,” he said.
“(Sheeran) is one of my favourite musicians and is a real inspiration to me.”
The finals of Kelmscott Idol are performed live on stage on the Saturday afternoon of the show and judged by four judges: singer-songwriter Antonio Corea, vocal coach Deborah Skelton, professional performer Zoe Simpson, and Perth vocalist and former X Factor contestant Veronica Bravo.
Idol co-ordinator Rachel John said the calibre of talent was extremely high, and Nasman is definitely one to watch, following his impressive audition performance.
“It is wonderful to welcome Nasman back as a finals contestant, and I am really looking forward to seeing his performance on stage at the Show,” she said.
“I think it will be a memorable part of this year’s Kelmscott Idol.”
