THE charms of Mandurah and its surrounds will be highlighted to potential visitors state-wide on TV program WA Weekender this Saturday.
Its attractions as an eco-tourism destination will be showcased when the program spotlights two local eco-tourism operators.
The regions peak tourism body, Mandurah and Peel Tourism Organisation Inc (MAPTO), arranged the segment which features Wheeling Adventures Ninebot personal transportation vehicles and Aqualib Eco Adventures guided eco-adventure tour.
MAPTO marketing manager Nadine Heinen, who worked closely with WA Weekender producers to create the programs storylines, said the upcoming episode was designed to reflect the great eco adventures available on water and on land.
Both of these local tourism operators offer a low impact, eco-friendly tour experience that is easily accessible to our visitors and reflects the unique destination we have, she said.
On land the new generation Segways, called Ninebots, take visitors around exploring via our boardwalks and foreshores and on water, Aqualibs tour allows people to experience crabbing and fishing in our inlet and to learn more about the importance of the wetlands and its majestic birdlife.
Wheeling Adventures owner Veronique Besson said the states popular travel show was an excellent medium to highlight eco-adventures.
For us, the exposure arranged by MAPTO has been perfect because our Ninebots are a fun and new way to go explore Mandurah, she said.
The episode we filmed shows people the beautiful environment they become part of when they take a personal transportation vehicle tour on our foreshores there is always wildlife and amazing sights to experience.
Melanie Thomas of Aqualib Eco Adventures agreed that WA Weekender gave their accredited tourism business exposure to the right target audience.
We love to take people crabbing and fishing and to pass on our vast knowledge of the water and marine life, she said.
Presenter Jessie James seemed to really enjoy her taste of eco-adventure with us.
MAPTOs Anytime Adventures campaign expresses the essence of what makes our destination appealing and WA Weekender reaches our primary audience of potential Perth visitors looking for new ideas.
The episode featuring Wheeling Adventures and Aqualib Marine Charters airs on Channel Sevens WA Weekender on Saturday December 5 at 5.30pm.
