Suspicious Mandurah Fire Destroys Homes

TWO Mandurah homes were destroyed by fire in the early hours of Thursday night – one of the fires is being treated as suspicious.

A home on Sefton Court sustained $100,000 worth of damage after a fire started last Thursday night.

The family living in the home evacuated their home and escaped the fire that destroyed half their property.

Fire crews arrived at 5.09am and had the fire out by 5.40am.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.

A vacant two-storey home on Mandurah Terrace also sustained $100,000 worth of damage.

The fire is being treated as suspicious and the arson squad is investigating.

The suspicious fire started around 1.30am and fire crews had it extinguished by 2.07am.

No one was injured in the fires.

It has been a busy time for fire crews in Mandurah, as these make the second and third house fires this week.
