Shirley Joiner passed away on Easter Sunday after a long illness.
Mrs Joiner was the backbone of the Peel Preservation Group for many years.
PPG spokeswoman Linda Thorpe said Mrs Joiner inspired many with her pioneering spirit.

“Shirley was well known and highly respected for her tireless work in the Mandurah community on behalf of several organisations,” she said.
“Her many awards included the Australia Day Citizen of the Year and also the ERIIC award.
“Our thoughts are with her family.”
