Mandurah WA Day Festival cancelled

Vanessa SchmittMandurah Coastal Times

THE WA Day Festival planned in Mandurah tomorrow has been cancelled due a bad weather forecast.

Event organisers The Makers, in conjunction with Celebrate WA, made the decision after the Bureau of Meteorology announced a cold front will be moving across Mandurah tomorrow afternoon.

The Makers event organiser Oliver Bazzani said the decision was regrettable, but necessary.

“It’s such a shame because it was shaping up to be a really great event for the Mandurah community, but the forecast is saying it’s the biggest storm of the season, so it was an obvious decision to make in the end,” he said.

“The welfare and enjoyment of the community, vendors and volunteers was at the forefront of our mind in making the decision.”
