Mandurah: wax a win for Make-A-Wish Foundation

Not only did they bare their hairy (or not so hairy) chests for Times photographer Jon Hewson, they are also preparing for some wax-induced pain.

Ladies, warm up your wax strips because the men will have hair ripped off their legs, arms, chest or backs. Women can bid to tear off the first strip of wax.

The 12 men (aka the Hairless Wonders) are putting their bodies on the line because they want to make wishes come true for more than 2000 young people diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions.

Money raised from Wax for a Wish will go to Make-A-Wish.

Participant Dave Schumacher said 95 per cent of his body would be up for waxing.

“There is plenty of hair,” he said.

‘So the more the money I raise, the more of my body will get waxed.

“No pain, no gain.”

So far, the Hairless Wonders have raised more than $5000 and their goal is $20,000.
