Mandurah: woman (73) assaulted during burglary

A woman (73) was assaulted by two men during a burglary.

Mandurah detectives are seeking information about an aggravated burglary on Thursday.

A 73-year-old woman was covering her gopher, which was parked on the front porch of her Mandurah Terrace home, when she was confronted by two men at about 5pm.

One man pushed the woman into her house before hitting her on the head with an unknown object.

When the woman regained consciousness, she realised various items had been stolen, including her handbag and jewellery with great sentimental value.

The woman was taken to Peel Health Campus where she was treated for her injuries.

The man who assaulted her was described as being in his late 20s, dark skinned, about 183cm tall and with dark hair. He was wearing a dark hooded jumper and tracksuit pants.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident who may have seen any suspicious activity, people or vehicles in the area.
