Mandurah woman charged over alleged detention centre sex abuse

Child Abuse Squad detectives have charged a 38-year-old woman as a result of their investigation into her activities while she was employed by the Department of Corrective Services.

It will be alleged between February and May 2017, the woman engaged in consensual sexual acts with a 17 year old boy who was in detention.

The woman from Halls Head has been charged with three counts of indecently dealing with a child over 16 years by a person in authority; and procuring a child over 16 to perform an indecent act by a person in authority.

She is due to appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court today (June 20)
