MANDURAH muso Billy Neil has returned from a three-show tour in Chicago where he was joined on stage by multi-talented 15-year old US teen star Caroline Baran.

Neil said he was amazed how their voices worked together and the crowd loved it.

“Caroline has an incredibly strong voice, more like a 30 year old and she has deservedly had more than over 1.3 million YouTube hits on her version of Cyndi Lauper’s Time After Time,” he said.

“Leonard Cohen died the night before one of our shows so we improvised two of his songs and it was a magic feeling to be paying him respect.

“I feel really lucky to have joined forces with Caroline for the shows and believe she is the next Janis Joplin.

“She is also a great pianist and bass player.”

Neil said Chicago was a great place to be and he was becoming something of a regular.

“It was an experience to be there on election night at 3am in a bar,’’ he said.

“The next day I had photo shoot downtown and got caught up by Trump Tower with protestors.”

Neil is straight back into it with solo and band shows with Bondi Cigars’ Lez Karski.

He appears at Murphys Irish Pub, Mandurah on New Year’s Eve.
