HANNAH Martin (27) is a Mandurah success story.

Her entrepreneurial acumen has resulted in her business Eco Spa being recognised on the national stage.

The organic wellness spa in the Mandurah Marina was named the Spa of the Year for WA and the NT at the Australian Beauty Industry Awards in Sydney on Sunday.

This followed Eco Spa winning Peel Business of the Year at the Peel Chamber of Commerce and Industry business awards on September 1. Eco Spa also won the Tourism Excellence and five to 10 employee categories.

Miss Martin credited Eco Spa’s success to hard work, determination and a solid team.

“Back in 2014 we started with one treatment room and one team member,” she said.

“Today we have 13 treatment rooms and 13 team members.

“We are so lucky to live out our dreams and passions each day.”

Miss Martin, a former Glencoe Primary School student, said Mandurah was the “ultimate setting and community” for Eco Spa to thrive.

“We are honoured to be an active part of this wonderful region we call home and meet so many beautiful people each day,” she said.

Miss Martin said business could be demanding – mentally, physically and emotionally.

“Business keeps you up at night – business can be very lonely,” she said.

“For me the journey has been 10 years of learning, evolving and investing.”

The ethos Miss Martin and her team embrace is to keep striving to deliver excellence in every aspect of beauty, health and wellness.

She said they had a “massive” year planned and there were exciting times ahead.

“Watch this space,” she said.
