Renovated existing squach court facilities

New/renovated building facades

In order for the extensive Stage Two construction works to take place, the gymnasium will be relocated to Court One on December 21 and the Mandurah Basketball Association will be relocated to the Halls Head Recreation Centre.

To assist with logistics, a staged solution will be implemented to alleviate parking concerns including a new 150-bay carpark being constructed on Cemetary Road which is due for completion before Christmas, and overflow parking on Rigel Reserve will be available throughout the construction phase.

Chief executive Mark Newman said since the successful opening of the MARC Redevelopment’s Stage One in September, the aquatics area has had over 97,000 visitors.

“This is one of the biggest community infrastructure projects that Mandurah has ever seen, and we are excited to be entering into stage two works,” he said.

The City understands that Stage Two of the MARC Redevelopment will have a significant impact on the users of the centre and the wider community, and is committed to reducing that impact as much as possible.

With rapidly growing attendances of more than 650,000 visitors per year, the ageing facilities at the MARC have been under pressure for a number of years.

The extensive redevelopment and refurbishment project will provide a modern, integrated sporting, aquatic and recreational facility that will meet the needs of Mandurah’s growing community and beyond.
