Staff ReporterMandurah Coastal Times

The first is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), which is ground-based grappling.

The centre has been lucky enough to secure the services of an expert Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor, and classes are held 7pm Mondays and 9.30am Saturdays.

No experience is necessary, so everyone can give Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu a try.

Self-defence classes will also commence soon, with the classes designed to show you how to defend yourself or your family, no matter what fitness level you have.

Martial Arts Education Centre will address the legal aspects of self-defence, such as avoidance.

The centre runs regular karate, Japanese Jiu-Jitsu and kobudo classes, which are so successful that there are currently no places available for four- to seven-year-olds, however places exist for children aged eight and older.

To enrol, call chief instructor Dr Nigel Farrier on 0437 011 053 or for details on self-defence classes, call Dale Morrison on 0437 155 125.
