Mates honoured at moving ceremony

Staff ReporterMandurah Coastal Times

Last week, Mandurah MLA David Templeman attended the 21st anniversary of the dedication of the HMAS Nizam Memorial at the invitation of N Class Destroyers Association president and Mandurah resident Ken Adams.

‘In a moving ceremony with the Southern Ocean and Leeuwin Lighthouse as a backdrop, the seven remaining association members, led by Mr Adams, remembered their mates before a 150-strong crowd,” Mr Templeman said.

‘This is an important part of Australian naval history and it was an honour to meet the families who, through their father or grandfather, are part of the association family.’
