BUSINESS partners Kerry Appleton and Jan Dulson are from very different backgrounds but they have joined forces to create a business they hope will help the community.

Former Mandurah community policing officer Ms Appleton and former chef and trainer Ms Dulson have started Mates Rates Daily, a business offering special deals to the community.

Ms Dulson said she had had “a bit of an obsession” with starting something similar for a while and the two came up with a business model in which to offer deals, particularly those involving restaurants and health and beauty.

They are also looking at weekends away and entertainment for big families with several children who find things hard to afford.

“Many families are missing out because many items are so unaffordable and we are also helping keep small businesses alive,’’ Mr Dulson said.

Mates Rates Daily has received a “phenomenal response” from business and the community.

Wine trip deals are on offer at present.
