SPENDING a night under the stars watching a film with friends and family just became that much sweeter, with the knowledge McDonald’s Community Cinemas collected more than $800,000 last season for local charities.
McDonald’s Community Cinemas in Burswood is Perth’s only community outdoor cinema that donates all profits to charity.
For 14 years, WA moviegoers have helped raise more than $5.25 million for charity.

The charity partners committed to volunteering for the season, with more than 700 volunteers to donate their time each season.
Founder of McDonald’s Community Cinemas and event co-ordinator Ken Gibbons said it was a wonderful example of the community coming together to support causes of real importance.

The season starts November 26 at Burswood, Bassendean and Murdoch University, followed by Mandurah in Meadow Springs from January 21 to 30.
