THROWING a stubby holder at his partner cost a man $400 when he appeared in Mandurah Magistrates Court today .

The man pleaded guilty to common assault in circumstances of aggravation.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Mick Fallows said the man and his partner had separated at the time and they were having an argument on March 9 in Meadow Springs over a vehicle they both owned.

The man, frustrated during their argument, threw a stubby holder made of soft material at his partner which hit her in the right eye. She didn’t receive any injuries.

The man, who represented himself, said he was still with his partner.

He said he did something stupid at the time but took full responsibility for it.

Magistrate Anne Longden said it was “an assault at the lower end” so she fined him $400.
