Miami Bakehouse and Pinjarra Bakery and Patisserie both win at Perth Royal Bread and Pastry Show

Pinjarra Bakery and Patisserie and Miami Bakehouse both had wins at the Perth Royal Bread and Pastry show on August 31.

Pinjarra Bakery took out the inaugural official great Aussie pie section.

Former AFL football player and Brownlow medallist Graham Moss helped judge the best Aussie pie.

The bakery fulfilled the criteria for the pie to be oval-shaped with minced beef filling, stable when hot and suitably decorated.

Pinjarra Bakery was named the most successful exhibitor in pastry cooking,

Winning gold for its Scottish shortbread biscuits, silver for its four strand plait loaf, cheese and bacon topped rolls, Swiss roll, carrot cake, cupcakes, brownies and slices, fruit tarts and vanilla slices, among others.

Miami Bakehouse had the most creative gourmet pie.

It won gold for chocolate eclairs, quiche lorraine and cheesecake, plus a slew of silver and bronze.
