Miami Bakehouse takes the cake

WA’s most awarded bakery can add 60 major Industry Baking Awards to the 800 it has won over the past 20 years.

The Miami Bakehouse won gold for its Anzac biscuits, sausage rolls, traditional doughnuts, 450g vienna loafs and its white bread rolls.

At the IGA Perth Royal Show, it was awarded champion pie for its gourmet chicken laksa and gold for its gourmet sticky pulled pork pie.

It was not only the food that impressed.

Miami Bakehouse Apprentice Phoebe Hannemann was awarded most successful apprentice in combined bread & pastry and took gold in decorated birthday sponge, as well as assorted cookies.

Apprentice Samantha Harvey claimed gold for 450g vienna loaf white, while Anthony Barber took gold for devon condensed white.

Miami Bakehouse co-owner David Palmer said the whole team should be proud.

“We believe in giving our apprentices every opportunity to showcase their growing skills to the highest standards and we are delighted to see the great results,” he said.
