The raids were in response to information received by Mandurah and Rockingham residents.

The team formed two months ago to target organised crime syndicates operating at district level, dealing drugs in local communities.

The team has executed 24 search warrants, resulting in 18 people being charged with 95 offences.

The initial focus of the team has been on the Peel district, to support police officers attached to Operation Esteem, which has been targeting anti-social behaviour and volume crime.

Significant results from the team’s raids include the seizure of 250g of synthetic methylamphetamine, 1.5kg of cannabis material, 54 cannabis plants, 80g of amphetamine, 31.4g of cocaine, 23g of methylamphetamine, six firearms, four stolen vehicles and $75,600.

Properties and assets worth about $850,000 were frozen under proceeds of crime legislation.

Detective Inspector Chris Adams said the results would have a direct impact on district level drug dealing and crime.
