BOTH WA teams on reality television show My Kitchen Rules are having a blast.
Speaking from a Long Table Lunch in Mandurah yesterday, both teams said appearing on the reality cooking series was an amazing experience.
Mother and son team Anna and Jordan Bruno, from Ashby, featured on the series this week.
Viewers can watch Anna and Jordan host MKR contestants and judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel at their home on Monday night.
Jordan said appearing on MKR was “full on” but the rewards were huge.
“It is great to spend time with mum and hang out with new friends,” he said.
“We got really close to Gianni and Zana, Rosie and Paige.”
Anna said it was an amazing journey and lots of fun.
“I love cooking so this was a dream come true,” she said.
“The best part was the cooking challenges.”
Anna owns a post office in North Perth and Jordan is a property valuer in Perth.
Secret Harbour couple Neville Groves and Kellie Griffiths will soon grace television screens across the nation when they compete as part of the second MKR team.
Already the pair are recognised around Rockingham and Mandurah, thanks to promotions for the show featuring Neville and his catchphrase the “duck’s nuts.”
Kellie said she decided to apply for the reality cooking show after watching from home and deciding they could do better.
“I religiously watched MKR,” she said.
“I said to Neville, come on let’s do it.
“It all went from there.”
Kellie said it was the best thing she had ever done.
“It’s the Olympics of cooking,” she said.
“We’ve joined an elite club.”
Neville said people recognised him and said “it’s the duck’s nuts” everywhere he went.
“They give me the thumbs up and ask for selfies,” he said.
“It’s nice to know we can make people feel good.”
Kellie owned her own cleaning business prior to the show and Neville worked on the mines.
MKR is on Channel 7 Monday to Wednesday at 7.30pm.
The contestants were at Mandurah Ocean Marina with former MKR contestants Chloe James and Kellie Ramsay and the Bachelor contestant Louise Pillidge. They enjoyed a Long Table Lunch taster as part of the lead-up to Crab Fest.
