Rockingham Shopping Centre will receive a sports bar and two new restaurants as part of a $5 million redevelopment to expand Syren Street’s dining precinct.

The redevelopment by Vicinity Centres is on the eastern side of Rockingham Shopping Centre and the Ace Rockingham Cinema Complex.

Construction of the expansion should have limited customer impact.

Vicinity Centres executive general manager of development Jonathan Timms said they have grown along with Rockingham.

“We’re excited to get underway with a $5 million investment to expand and develop Syren Street,” he said.

“Due to be completed by mid next year, the new sports bar and restaurants will perfectly complement the existing entertainment and leisure hub.”

Rockingham Shopping Centre’s Syren Street precinct has thirteen different dining options.

The three new additions will add to the existing offer of Burger Edge, Chutney Mary’s, Han’s Cafe, Hog’s Breath Cafe, KFC, Mash Brewing, Nandos, Outback Jack’s, Pasta Cup, Subway, San Churro, Zambrero and Grill’d.

The developers said the three new additions to the strip recognise the importance of the centre to the local community.
