Last May, the council resolved not to support final approval for the proposal for mainly residential development with low scale tourist and retail uses.
This was based on the applicant’s unsatisfactory climate change risk assessment that did not address the requirements of the WA Planning Commission State Planning Policy 206.
The applicant appealed the decision with the State Administration Tribunal and now proposes construction of a seawall along the eastern boundary of the development .
