NATIONAL Lifestyle Villages’ Bridgewater property will be the scene of a monster market day this Sunday between 9am and 2pm.
As well as 40 stalls and activities, the auction will be the major drawcard.
Event organiser and resident for more than 10 years Roger Luff said there would be about 30 new and second-hand items, including whitegoods, sporting goods and household items.
“This event brings a great crowd as the items are bargains and only a few carry a reserve,’’ he said.
“Stalls will feature a wide range of items from leather goods, fresh produce and skin care products to jams and pickles,’’ he said.
“And when guests get hungry, there’s a sausage sizzle.”
A shuttle bus will leave from Erskine Central Shopping Centre car park near Coles ferrying guests back and forth.
Entry is free and guests are encouraged to view the facility.
Manager Marie Palmer said the 523 residents were the best advocates for the village.
“There’s always something happening here and with such an active social club, we have very busy residents and a caring community atmosphere,’’ she said.
The range of activities includes line dancing, theatre productions, bingo, barbecues and fish and chip nights to bowling, pool and darts competitions.
Facilities include an arts and crafts centre, sauna, spa and indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a 74-seat cinema, family centre, gardening area and club house.
There are also caravan and boat storage facilities as well as a mini put-put for the grandkids when they visit.
