New Vinnies store seeking volunteers

THE new Vinnies store in Halls Head and is looking for volunteers.

The shops opening received massive support from the community with long queues of people having a look around.

Manager Amanda Albert said patrons were excited by the store’s location.

“Most of the op shops are clustered on the other side of the bridge, so a lot of customers have said it is fantastic we are in this location,” she said.

The store is still looking for volunteers who are keen to make a difference in their community.

“We still have room for more volunteers so I’m hoping some young people will apply because aside from being a fun place to work, it is a great way to learn skills they can put on their resume,” she said.

Volunteer Kerrie Davis has enjoyed her experience so far.

“This role makes me feel engaged, productive and a part of giving something back,” she said.

“To people who are thinking of volunteering, I would say just give it a go. It’s worth it.”
