THE Peel’s two wheel adventure machine, the Ninebots operated by Wheeling Adventures, have received the green light to operate at all 10 locations after a long awaited decision handed down by the State’s Road Safety Commission.
Co-owner Vernonique Besson said she was overwhelmed with gratitude to the City of Mandurah and Dawesville MLA Kim Hames for their assistance and advocacy during the nine-month process.
Announcing Wheeling Adventures’s new eco-wildlife tour at Len Howard Conservation Park at Erskine, Mrs Besson said the glitch was in the definition of the personal transportation vehicles.

READ NOW“Our Ninebots are the next generation Segways – owned by the same company in fact – and they needed to be formally cleared to operate in public space,’’ she said.
“They are similar but different in that Ninebots are smaller, lighter,much easier to operate and equipped with superior technology.”
“We worked with the City of Mandurah to create maps of our intended routes which were then approved but only after the Ninebots were tested by Australian engineers and had passed specific tests.
“The report was sent to City of Mandurah for approval, then to the Road Safety Commission, then to the office of the WA Minister of Police & Road Safety, who approved it and placed it in the Government Gazette. “
The energy efficient, green machines will be seen this summer operating on two tours – Mandjar and Sunset in Style – on the eastern foreshore boardwalk, as well as the Sundowner tour from The Cut Golf Course, and the new eco-wildlife tour from Mandurah Quay Resort.
“We are mobile, so we can bring our Ninebot trailer to your business or your home for parties,” Mrs Besson said.
