The City is encouraging people from diverse backgrounds to nominate for election as a local government councillor.

Nominations close at 4pm on Thursday, September 10.

Serving as a councillor does require a certain level of community involvement, but many previous and standing councillors carry out their Council commitments while also holding full-time employment.

Potential candidates can find more information about eligibility and how to nominate on the City's website or contact Returning Officer Ian Frame on 0403 020 637 or frameij@hotmail.com

An information session for prospective candidates will be held at 5:30pm on Monday, August 31 in the Tuckey Room at the City of Mandurah.

Eligible voters must be enrolled on the Electoral Roll by Friday, August 28.

Contact the WA Electoral Commission on 13 63 06 for further information.
