THE shared path along the Wilgie Creek pedestrian bridge in North Yunderup is open for use.
The $225,000 project will provide pedestrians and cyclists with safer access to recreational, commercial and educational facilities and extend the council’s current shared path network.
A 345m concrete path, including a 30m footbridge, built on the eastern side of North Yunderup Road is the missing link in the existing North Yunderup footpath network.
The path will be extended from North Yunderup Road to Pinjarra Road, along Tonkin Drive following recent funding.
A shared path will also be built on Pinjarra Road between Wilson Road and Forrest Street.
The plan will also connect footpaths along Pinjarra road to form a direct linkage between the existing Shire of Murray footpath network and the new principal shared path on the Kwinana Freeway southern extension.
