Last week colleagues at Peel Health Campus, celebrated Ms Bryant’s retirement, after working at the campus for 20 years.

Ms Bryant has worked in a variety of nursing roles at the campus.

‘When I first started, I knew everyone’s name, it was a small hospital and felt like family,’ she said.

‘Each ward feels like a family now. It is good to see new nurses come through; I know I’ll be looked after when I’m older.’

Director of clinical services Diane Barr remarked on her kindness, compassion and professionalism.

‘Ruth was an exemplary model for new nurses commencing the profession, as she displayed all the strengths required for nursing,’ she said.

‘Ruth is a kind, compassionate and professionally committed nurse respected by all staff and she has made a significant difference to patient experience and health outcomes for the community in Mandurah.’
