Ocean Road PS Veterans 360 fundraiser

OCEAN Road Primary School held their annual fundraiser for Veterans 360 Australia last week.

V360 ambassador and education assistant Leah Lawler, who established the relationship between Ocean Road PS and V360, said it was important students were involved to ensure future generations understood who they were as Australians and the sacrifices made by those who fought in the wars to give Australia freedom.

V360 Australia is a registered charity established in 2015 to conduct assertive outreach, raise awareness and provide ongoing support for homeless veterans throughout Australia.

Ocean Road has supported V360 since 2016.

The first year, three staff members cooked Anzac biscuits and sold them at school.

This year, 15 members cooked multiple batches.

Students, staff and the community gathered in the last week of school for the annual Anzac ceremony, at which Dawesville RSL |sub-branch member Bart Maverick addressed students.
