Oil’s well that ends well with award win

The Meelon couple won silver at the Perth Royal Show with their first attempt at olive oil. They came second out of 150 entries from around Australia.

‘We pick from the field and take it straight to the shed to be pressed,’ Mr Peirce said.

‘Most growers send their olives off to get pressed.

‘The judges noticed how fresh our olive oil was.’

The couple’s small boutique Le Maison Blanc had 200L of olive oil, but have sold out.

Mr Peirce is a butcher by trade and was thrilled at the results of his new venture.

‘I’m looking forward to taking orders for next year,’ he said.
