Old Mandurah Bridge painted every day

Vanessa SchmittMandurah Coastal Times

ARTIST Jos Courfreu has set himself the challenge of painting the old Mandurah bridge en plein (in the open air) every day this month.

For 31 days he has been, or will be, out there painting the bridge from different locations and angles.

Courfreu said it was important to document the heritage bridge as it made way for a new bridge.

He is no stranger to painting outdoors and has been a member of the Mandurah plein air artists for three years, enjoying their Tuesday painting sessions in various locations.

A selection of his old Mandurah bridge paintings will be on display and for sale at the Bridge Garden Bar and Restaurant (formerly Prontos) during the Stretch Festival on May 8 and 9.
