PARENTS in the Peel region are mourning after the closure of Mandurah Chipmunks.

A note was posted on the window of the Rouse Road, Greenfields business today.

“It is with great regret that we advise that we have had to close our business,” the note read.

“In these hard economic times, and despite doing our best to keep the doors open, we have had to make the difficult decision to cease trading.”

The Mandurah Chipmunks was one of six children’s play centres in WA, with other franchises in Cockburn, Kelmscott, Port Kennedy, Wanneroo and Whitfords.

The other locations are unaffected by the closure.

“People that have paid deposits for birthday parties will be contacted in due course,” the notice said.

“There is a Chipmunks Playland and Cafe in Port Kennedy for your little ones to go in the meantime.

“Apologies, and thanks for your understanding.”
