PEEL’S world-class golf courses will soon feature in Australian golfing magazine Caddie as part of a 30-page feature on the great golf courses of WA and South Australia.

Mandurah and Peel Tourism Organisation (MAPTO) recently hosted members of Caddie magazine to show them first-hand why the region is known as WA’s Golf Coast.

As part of their visit, the golfing experts played The Cut, Meadow Springs Golf and Country Club and Secret Harbour Golf Links.

Their experiences will feature in the upcoming edition.

MAPTO chief executive Karen Priest said the project was part of the organisation’s golf tourism strategy.

“With an abundance of challenging and beautiful golf courses in a perfect climate, golf is a great drawcard for visitors to the Peel Region from our key tourism markets,” Ms Priest said.

“In particular, golf tourism is a big industry in South-East Asia and we are just a short plane ride away to further entice this increasing leisure tourism market.”

As part of the golf marketing strategy, MAPTO has formed partnerships with most of the region’s golf courses who have contributed funds for increased golf marketing activities.

MAPTO was also instrumental in having the Peel Region golf courses recognised by Great Golf Courses of Australia.
