Peel ‘green’ homes to open on Sustainable House Day

SUSTAINABLE homes throughout the Peel region will be open to view for Sustainable House Day on Sunday, September 17.

Sarah Love, of Wannanup, is one of 170 homeowners nationwide opening her home to the community to pass on tips and advice on topics including solar power use, home batteries, off-grid living, and innovative building materials and design.

Sustainable House Day is a valuable resource for anyone looking for practical information on sustainable homes, what works and what doesn’t, and how to move towards ‘greener’ living.

Sustainable House Day is a national event that allows the public to see and learn from some of the best environmental homes in Australia, and shows people how to lower energy bills, live comfortably and help the environment through good home design, practices and technology.

Mandurah homes to open for the event include The Rare Gem unit and the Unlimited Potential home, from 10am to 3pm. An electric car might also be on display.
