Peel sporting groups share in $73,000 in State Government funding

PEEL sporting groups received $73,000 as part of the State Government’s Regional Organisational Sustainability Program.

Sport and Recreation Minister Mia Davies said the funding helped sporting associations and peak bodies to create active regional communities.

“Regional sporting groups are essential in building stronger and more vibrant communities,” Ms Davies said.

“This funding ensures grassroots sporting groups are sustainable for their members and that all West Australians have access to quality sport and recreation opportunities.”

These funds help sporting groups develop governance systems, provide access to competition opportunities for regional participants while also assisting in supporting coaches, officials and volunteers within regional sport.

The program is administered by the Department of Sport and Recreation.
