PINJARRA Bakery and Patisserie has taken out the great Aussie pie competition, a new class in this year’s Perth Royal Show.
The winners successfully fulfilled the criteria for the pie to be oval-shaped with minced beef filling, stable when hot and suitably decorated.
Former AFL football player and Brownlow Medallist Graham Moss judged the competition.

READ NOWPinjarra Bakery was also named the most successful exhibitor in pastry cooking, winning gold for its Scottish shortbread biscuits and silver for its four strand plait loaf, cheese and bacon topped rolls, Swiss roll, carrot cake, cupcakes, brownies and slices, fruit tarts and vanilla slices.
Miami Bakehouse had the most creative gourmet pie and won gold for chocolate eclairs, quiche Lorraine and cheesecake, plus a slew of silver and bronze.
