Pinjarra Men’s Shed gets money for a new shed

PINJARRA Men’s Shed has received a $22,500 Lotterywest grant towards establishment of the shed.

The funding will go towards costs associated with construction of the facility, due to be completed and opened later this year.

Murray-Wellington MLA Robyn Clarke said the men’s shed was a project many in the community were passionate about.

“Since the Pinjarra Men’s Shed formed last year, I have been meeting with them regularly, so I know how hard all members have been working,’’ she said. “Men’s sheds hold an important place in regional communities by supporting men’s mental health and wellbeing.”

Shire President David Bolt said the Pinjarra Community Men’s Shed comprised passionate, dedicated members who had taken a proactive step in encouraging mateship.

Councillor Bolt said the Shire was further supporting the group with site preparations in anticipation of the shed installation, including site works, minor drainage realignments, power and water.
