PINJARRA Rotary Club members have planted an avenue of Jacaranda trees on the South West Highway to celebrate the club’s 50-year anniversary.

Members planted the trees near the Pinjarra Trotting Club on Thursday April 27.

Projects co-ordinator John Tuckey said members had been planning the event for about two years.

“We wanted to leave a legacy and give back to the community,” he said.

“Jacarandas have been planted at historical sites throughout the Shire of Murray.”
