THERE were feathers, parrots and plenty of bandanas at Halls Head Primary School on Friday.

Students dressed up for Pirate Day Friday in an effort to raise awareness and funds for children suffering from brain cancer.

The participation in Pirate Day Friday reinforced the school’s six Kinds of Best values, specifically raising awareness of “Being the Community Kind”.

Students learnt about children who were disadvantaged due to illness.

They wore eye-patches for the day to demonstrate the loss of sight which can happen to people and children diagnosed with brain cancer.
