Man charged over alleged gopher theft

Staff WriterMandurah Coastal Times

A MAN has been charged after allegedly stealing a mobility scooter from Mandurah foreshore on Tuesday.

Between 5.10pm and 5.40pm, a woman took her brother to Mandurah Terrace and parked the gopher outside the visitor centre while they were using the bathroom.

Police said the woman’s brother has a medical condition and needed to use the vehicle to go to the foreshore.

A man allegedly approached and placed his skateboard in the gopher, which has the owner’s mobile phone and personal items, and drove away with it.
