Police release image of man wanted in relation to violent Dawesville car jacking, south of Mandurah

MANDURAH detectives have released a composite image of a man wanted in relation to a violent car jacking in Wannanup on September 23.

Yesterday, detectives renewed calls for witnesses.

Police said a 41-year-old male was sitting in his white Hyundai Getz in the beach carpark at the end of Westview Parade.

The offenders reached through the open driver’s door window and began punching the victim to his face and upper torso numerous times before dragging him out of his vehicle.

The offenders stole the victim’s car, registration number 1EJW008. The vehicle has still not been found.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone who was in the area between 4.30pm and 5.30pm who may have seen the incident.

Three other cars were seen in the area at the time, including a light green Holden Commodore (possibly a VZ or VY model), a Nissan Patrol and a white courier-style van.

Police are asking the people in these cars to come forward, and those with dashcam vision who were in the area.

The victim received extensive cuts to above both his eyes which required stitches; and bruising to both eyes and his face, ribs and back.
