A PRESCRIBED burn is intended to take place around Peel Health Campus during autumn/winter 2017.

The burn is being conducted to reduce the risk of bushfires to the hospital and other nearby commercial and residential buildings.

The burn will be managed on behalf of Ramsay Health Care in consultation with the City of Mandurah, Department of Fire and Emergency Services and the Department of Parks and Wildlife.

The burn will be conducted in bushland between Lakes Road, Teranca Road and Minilya Parkway at the rear of Peel Health Campus.

Due to smoke generated from the burn, traffic management will be in place during the course of the burn.

People are reminded to drive with extreme care, follow speed restriction advice, or avoid the area if possible.

In the interests of safety, the public must not visit the burn area for any purpose during or after the burn.

The burn is expected to take place over two days and the exact date will be subject to weather conditions.

The hospital will be operating as normal during this time.
