NEW country rock singer-songwriter Ray Ryder has kicked off his national tour in WA and rocks Cantwell Park, Pinjarra next Wednesday with a free all-ages gig to open the Shire of Murray’s Christmas celebrations.

Ryder and his band will run a free music workshop at Pinjarra Civic Centre next Thursday from 9-10am covering a range of topics including instrument skills, song writing, sound and lighting production, sound recording and reality TV.

All ages and all levels of musicians are invited and may take along their own instrument, a pen and a notepad.

The free all-ages concerts and music workshops are supported by the Royalty for Regions Program.

Ryder wrote, sang, played, recorded and produced his entire album in his home studio, offering listeners the chance to experience a rare multi- instrumentalist powering his way through catchy guitar and banjo driven county rock/pop tunes.

He has been chosen to join the ranks of Australia’s greatest musicians including Jessica Mauboy, Lee Kernaghan, Mark Seymour, James Reyne, Ian Moss and James Blundell at the Birdsville Big Red Bash in 2017 and has shared a stage with Sting, Chris Isaak, Bryan Ferry, John Farnham, Shirley Bassey, James Morrison and Screaming Jets.

Ryder started his musical career alongside ‘60s groups such as The Four Kinsmen and The Troupadores and has been the face of many TV adverts including Retravision’s You Got It.
