RECONNECT in Mandurah will hold two free workshops in June for parents of teenagers to explore issues related to self-care.

The workshops would be suited to families who are struggling with conflict in the home.

The Reconnect program is run through Mission Australia and provides free and confidential services.

The aim of the program is to offer early intervention, counselling and practical support to young people and their families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

A spokeswoman said there were prevailing issues around youth unemployment, drugs and homelessness in the Peel region.

“We’d love to get the word out about this important service among the community,” she said.
