PINJARRA Refinery employees headed to the Murray Military Museum in Coolup as part of their Month of Service.

Last week, the 16-member team restored old war vehicles, welded a new gun storage container and performed general landscaping at the facility.

Alcoa employee and Murray Military Museum manager Craig Grantham said the employees made a valuable contribution.

“I have had an interest in military pieces since I was young when I first began collecting them. I wanted to keep the pieces from being sent overseas and provide a space where I can share them with the community,” he said.

“Alcoa have been great in supplying grant money for the materials and employee volunteers to help build the facility.”

Other activities in the region conducted by Pinjarra Refinery employees included assisting St Joseph’s Primary School.
