Rottnest Island quokka kicker, Mandurah’s Harry McPherson, pleads guilty to animal cruelty

A FALCON man who was filmed kicking a quokka on Rottnest Island in February has pleaded guilty to a charge of animal cruelty.

Harrison Angus McPherson (20) appeared in Fremantle Magistrates Court on Friday in relation to the incident where he kicked a quokka into a courtyard wall.

The film was circulated widely on social media.

McPherson’s photo was also shared by users who expressed their disgust at the act.

In response a Facebook support page was started for McPherson and James.

The page called Harry McPherson & Corey James – give them a break has a profile picture stating “Keep Calm Because Nobody’s Perfect”.

The page has five likes and asks people sending abuse to “get a life”.

McPherson will reappear in court on June 20 for sentencing.
