Lezard isn’t the first to cycle the world, but he is the first to combine a passion for Super Rugby and for his chosen charity Leonard Cheshire Disability Homes.
He was motivated to fundraise for the charity after seeing their work first hand in Africa.
To this end, he has visited every city in New Zealand and Australia that has a Super Rugby team.
He has auctioned sports memorabilia to raise money and taken donations from strangers.
Lezard said his photo journalism degree had put him in good stead to document his arduous journey.
On January 13 next year, Lezard will host a presentation of his journey and raffle off sports memorabilia at Yokine Districts Bowling Club.
