“Last year, Mandurah Salvation Army raised $23,000 so we hope to beat that total this year by $1000.”

Mr Ellery said people could make a donation at seven locations across the Mandurah area.

“We have a few collection spots where donations can be made including Halls Head Central, Bunnings in Mandurah and Halls Head, Miami Plaza, Mandurah Forum, and Woolworths in Greenfields and Mandurah,” he said.

The Mandurah SES, Army Cadets and other community groups will support and volunteer with this year’s collection.

However, Mr Ellery said the Mandurah Corps team were still looking for volunteers to help out with the appeal.

“The Mandurah community is good at volunteering and we currently have 40 volunteers from Mandurah manning one to three hour slots at any of the locations, but we have 97 slots left to fill,” he said.

The appeal will begin on May 21 and end on June 3.
