IF you’re staying in the Peel region during the April school holidays, there’s heaps of activities happening.

The City of Mandurah alone will offer more than 50 free and low-cost activities, so kids and teens can try new things, build their skills and make new friends.

Plus, the break includes Easter, ANZAC Day and Youth Week WA.

This list will help your family start planning your holiday.

Remember the ANZACs

The Mandurah Community Museum’s ANZAC exhibition will commemorate locals who served in World War One and feature memorabilia from private collections. Kids aged from 12 years can design and create a metal identity disc.

Fishing clinics

3 Pinjarra Road, Mandurah

Kids aged 6-12 years can have fun learning to fish during Mandurah Community Museum’s clinics. Fishing equipment and bait will be supplied, certificates and prizes awarded and a sausage sizzle lunch included. Adults must accompany children. Bookings are essential via phone or email museum@mandurah.wa.gov.au.

The Pirate Ship Mandurah

Eastern foreshore, near The Bay Cafe, opposite Grill’d

Kids can board The Pirate Ship, dress up in pirate attire, take photos behind the pirate wheel and look through telescopes during a 45-minute scenic cruise on the estuary and inlet in the open-air vessel. Adults must accompany children.

Scenic flights

Fairbridge Village

Fairbridge Village offers a vacation program jam-packed with fun adventure activities for kids aged 7-15 years. Enjoy exciting excursions and on-site activities including ANZAC cooking classes, indoor climbing, canoeing, archery and more. Bookings are essential.
